Jagged Edges is the 3rd level pack and introduces corner shadow tiles – lines can enter these from two different directions and come out on different sides of the board.
It makes for some interesting pseudo blending of different lines when they’re entered from both directions – and the illusion of continuity when the same line does it.
It’s also a major step up in difficulty from the first 2 packs. We might be underestimating the difficulty with only a 6/10 rating – that’s only after we’ve done Outside the Box and Wide Jags, which also have corner shadows.
While in most packs the basic pattern of the board designs stays the same throughout the pack, sometimes varying slightly and usually increasing in size throughout the pack, Jagged Edges features 4 different base patterns that alternate throughout the pack.
If you’re struggling with Jagged Edges – feel free to skip the pack and move on to Giant Steps. But don’t go onto the other packs with corner shadows before getting through at least the first 60 or so levels of this one.
Another interesting fact: Jagged Edges ranks last in the percentage of shadow tiles crossed per level, but first in both the percentage of lines that cross shadow tiles and the percentage of lines that cross multiple shadow tiles. Weird, huh?
