Connect the Dots: Portals is the sequel to Connect the Dots: Shadows and the fourth game in the Connect the Dots series.
Like shadows, lines that enter portals will continue at another part of the board. Unlike shadows, portals aren’t only on the edges of the board, but instead somewhere in the middle. A single portal can be entered up to 4 times. This adds an interesting – and sometimes crazy dynamic to the levels in Connect the Dots: Portals.
Connect the Dots: Portals currently features 10 level packs and 1500 levels. There is only one basic pattern for all of the levels: each level features two square or rectangular sectors of the same size. There are no shadows (or “warps”). The portals are the only thing that connect the two sectors; otherwise the levels would just be two separate levels.
Within this pattern, the levels vary in the size of the sectors as well as the number and placement of the portals. The size of the sectors range from 5×5 to 9×13. The number of portals ranges from 1 to 6.
This provides an extremely wide range of difficulty. Below are examples of both of the extremes:
a 5x5x2 level with 1 portal and its solution.
a 9x13x2 level with 6 portals and its solution.
