I had a really hard time deciding which computer generated version of this level to edit – this resulted in 800 images for the level, though the image I decided to edit was among the first 50.
The editing was pretty easy – something had to be done about the bottom section, and it made sense to give it a soft purple glow as a counter to the turquoise top area.
Initially I was concerned that the colors are too similar to the last image in the set, but after I inserted the 3rd image this didn’t bother me nearly as much.
The image is currently my favorite opener in any set to date.

Notes
The wood-like appearance is something I hadn’t seen before and I felt I had to include the image in my set. Between the unedited version and the version in the gallery the “wood” switched from a dark oak to a bright maple, which I like.
The effect added to make the last image is a sunshine effect (set to 50%) that is part of the standard image-editing software that came with my phone.

Before/After edits
Lines – 74
Lines with color changes – 14
Notes
This is the first image from the 111×109 gallery which I think fits better in this set – specifically between the 2nd and 4th images. I did make a couple of minor changes to the version in the 111×109 gallery (which I edited with just a 30 color palette), but they are hardly noticeable.
The image is one of my favorites for the transition effect – it has a unique look due to it’s colors and “stripes”, which makes most images really pop out after looking at this one for a bit.

Lines with color changes – 58
Notes
This level has over 250 intermediate versions created during line editing – all of which can seen in this 20 second video.
The level has almost 100 lines that are over 15 tiles (the threshold I set for brighter colors), and thus images with randomized colors are going to tend to have a bunch of flaws.
While this specific original clearly has many of these flaws – it gave me the idea for the final version which I never would have thought of by looking at any of the other 200 or so images for the level.
Although I wasn’t sure how to get there (as evidenced in the video), the final version is almost exactly what I envisioned when I saw the original. It contends with 111×109 Level 25 as a possible favorite image of mine – even though at times I can’t stand to look at because of it’s over-the-top bright colors.
